On 20th July 2017 CRA and SaRS co-hosted a workshop event, at Birchwood Park Golf and Country Club, which brought together industry experts with the aim of testing a method for eliciting structured expert judgement.
Structured Expert Judgement seeks to minimise any biases and sources of ambiguity in the process of collecting expert data. This ensures that the process is as transparent as possible.
CRA is currently undertaking a Research and Development (R&D) project, funded by Innovate UK, to better understand how Structured Expert Judgement can be applied within the nuclear industry and other safety critical industries. The purpose of the workshop event was to trial a tool to inform the R&D project.
The event was well attended by around 25 industry experts who were keen to share their knowledge and learn more about Structured Expert Judgement.
CRA would like to thank all the industry experts who attended the event and the Safety and Reliability Society for supporting the event.
Please check the CRA website for updates and for details of any future workshop sessions.
