Announcing our 8th speaker at this year’s Risk Forum 16th and 17th September…
Speaker: Mike Zammett
Topic: Seismic PSA – A PSA Modeller’s Perspective
Interesting Fact: Mike’s uncle who works as a firefighter at Sellafield was shocked and disappointed to learn that firefighting isn’t generally credited in Fire PSA studies for nuclear facilities. The same uncle also used to play rugby league for Workington, so Mike made sure to keep a safe distance between them when he broke the news – proof that he never stops risk managing!
Overview: Mike will be hosting an interactive session titled ‘Seismic PSA – A PSA Modeller’s Perspective’. In this session Mike will present some examples of the seismic PSA modelling issues he has encountered. He will seek the opinion of the delegates regarding his unconventional ideas for solving some of the issues he has encountered when tackling seismic PSA . This session will look briefly at issues of dependency, qualification, fragility, uncertainty and human reliability in the context of seismic PSA.
Mike is a risk and reliability specialist with experience in the construction, manufacturing, rail and nuclear industries. He has been with CRA for over 6 years starting as a Graduate Consultant and working up to a Senior Consultant. Currently Mike is acting as Hazards PSA lead for the HPC project.
