CRA is delighted to announce the launch of its company membership scheme with the Nuclear Institute (NI), making it the first SME and one of the first companies in the UK to enter into such an arrangement since the launch of the NI company membership scheme in 2016.
This arrangement allows all our employees to join the NI as associate members giving them access to the full range of benefits NI membership entails, as well as placing them on the path towards full professional membership with the NI. The launch of this scheme reinforces our commitment to the professional development of our personnel and underlines our dedication to nuclear professionalism.
Our CEO and founder Jasbir Sidhu said of the partnership, which was announced in CRA’s London office on the 15th of March, “CRA is firmly committed to the development of our personnel and nuclear professionalism, so it simply made sense to sign up to the NI’s company membership scheme. As our organisation grows, access to the NI’s resources can only further enhance the skills and knowledge of our team and strengthen our nuclear culture.”
This is the latest stage in a long and close relationship with the NI. We are the hosts for the NI South East Branch quarterly meeting and two members of staff currently sit on the branch committee. As part of the NI London and South East branch’s educational aims, our staff have co-presented a guest lunchtime lecture on Russian reactor designs in 2016 and, due to its success, will be repeating the lecture this year. Our personnel have also manned the branch stand at the Big Bang South East. We have also been heavily involved in the YGN, co-sponsoring the London and South East Branch YGN annual speaking competition in 2012 and 2013 and we were gold sponsor for the YGN annual seminar and dinners in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Finally, most recently in 2016, our CEO, Jasbir Sidhu, was the guest speaker at the London and South East Branch speaking competition talking about the importance of knowledge sharing, a belief which was a key part of the reasons for joining the NI.
Commenting on the launch of our company membership, CEO of the Nuclear Institute, Sarah Beacock, said “I am delighted that CRA has become the first SME in the nuclear sector to sign up to the NI’s company membership scheme. It shows their commitment to the industry and particularly to their staff for whom it will be an important step towards their own nuclear professionalism. Making such a positive move in the early months of the new scheme demonstrates the importance of what the company membership scheme means to all sizes of organisation and we are grateful to CRA for showing this early lead.”
