Stephen Kidd is a Principal Consultant at Corporate Risk Associates (CRA). He has 18 years’ experience in the production of safety cases in both the Civil and Defence nuclear sectors.
During this time, he has worked both as a consultant and within a UK licensee, supporting a wide variety of nuclear projects and clients at all stages in the plant lifecycle.
Work delivered by Stephen ranges from: initial hazard identification and concept design development, supporting the operation and modification of existing plant and decommissioning. This has gained Stephen experience and understanding of a wide range of safety case tools and techniques and the safety management arrangements of a number of different licensees.
In addition to the production of safety case documents, Stephen also has experience in the development of nuclear safety policies, processes and procedures, and the development and delivery of the associated training.
Over the last decade Stephen’s time has predominantly been split between the provision of support to the existing UK Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor (AGR) fleet and new build projects.
He directly supported Hitachi-GE in their successful Generic Design Assessment (GDA) submission for the UK Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (UKABWR). He also supported both Horizon Nuclear Power and NNB GenCo in the development of their the Pre-Construction Safety Cases for the Wylfa Newydd and Hinkley Point C projects.
Stephen is Chartered Member of the Nuclear Institute.
